West Coast Session

Maks and Karl got invited to this years West Coast Session at Timberline in Oregon. The event lasted 5 days and invitees where split into groups in order to make individual edits to showcase the trip with their own style. It Certainly looks like everyone had a good time and the videos that have been released so far are nothing short of awesome.

Karl was on Team Kooter with filmer Evan Heath, who has always been known to bring things to the next level.

Evan Heath brings us full circle with stellar editing that makes you want to watch again and again with his feature-by-feature disection of what Park City has to offer. Karl Fostvedt and Maks Gorham; Welcome!

Of course, there are big things happening at LDC. Most recently we are extremely stoked to be welcoming Karl Fostvedt and Maks Gorham to the LDC family.

Karl has been a good friend of ours for a while and is a natural born skier and athlete. He absolutely rips. Double flips to double stagers- that's Krazy Karl. Look for him shredding in the greater SLC area and be sure to say what's up!

We also stoked to be working with Maks Gorham this season. Maks is one of the most humble guys you will ever meet but don't let that fool you; Maks destroys. On the average day you can find him lapping through Breck or Keystone, doing shit you've never seen before. Look for Maks on the hill and in next year's STEPT Productions flick. This guy is the future.

That's a big jump. Maks.

First day in Colorado, Wolf Creek 10/8/11

Yesterday was my first day skiing. It was amazing. Nothing short of amazing. 12 hours of driving? Yes. $33 dollar tickets? Heck yes. Face shots? You bet ya.

At 4am we left Summit County, it began to snow.

4:30am, it started snowing really really hard. White-out conditions for the next 3 hours, what hell are we thinking?

5 hours after leaving Summit County we arrive at Wolf Creek, aka powder land. Stoke level through the roof.

We arrived at Wolf Creek and it was magnificent. Snow everywhere, lifts just starting to turn up. People were stoked, we were stoked. Here unfortunately the action shots run a bit dry. To be completely honest we were more into shredding as much pow as possible than stopping for photo ops. Here are some of the on hill shots we did manage to get.

There was a little snow, actually there was a lot of snow.

People told me Wolf Creek didn't have any steeps, this blind, steep-as-hell, rollover begs to differ.

They even had a rail, would you imagine that...

After some bombing, they opened up this ridge later in the day. We got to ski some bigger lines and hit a fun natural jump. Doesn't look like opening day at your mountain? Bummer.

But before we knew it, the day was over. The lifts turned off and we began to feel how sore we actually were. I can safely say that it was the best opening day I have ever experienced. It felt like a mid winter powder day. The atmosphere was great and the snow was even better.

So sadly we piled back into the Grand Viagra (see below) for the drive back. What we drove through in a white-out 13 hours earlier turned out to be one of the most spectacular stretches of road I have driven in Colorado. A great end to a great day!

Big Thanks to Wolf Creek Ski Resort and the crew (especially Elliott for driving 3 hours of pitch black white-out blizzard at 4 in the morning). Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the season!

Will Berman had the chance to get deep into British Columbia to ski Retallack Mountain Lodge in March this past season.

The trip was brought about by team 4FRNT's performance at the 2010 Orage Masters in Whistler, which provided them with a week long trip of the deepest snow, best service, and Roman Candle fights that would make General Patton blush.

Visiting a place like Retallack is sure to altar the skier in you forever. Between seemingly endless glades and cliff drops galore, all accessed by snow cat, it is safe to say that this trip will not be forgotten, but relived.
